Post-Op Update

We are now home from having Avery's adenoids removed. She was such a little trooper. The whole procedure took less than 20 minutes (including anesthesia). Apparently, her adenoids were enlarged and infected. She had a lot of pain and discomfort in the recovery room. They gave her a breathing treatment and a small dose of morphine, which knocked her out for about 1 1/2 hours. When she woke she seemed to be doing better so they sent us home. Since then, she has eaten some fruit, mac and cheese and has had 1 dose of tylenol with codeine and a nebulizer treatment. Keep your fingers crossed that she continues to heal quickly and without complications.

Wow! I hope she's back to herself & feeling better really soon! Maybe some of her illnesses will fade after this surgery. It's no fun for a little one to feel yucky all the time! :) Here's to good health!
