Yesterday both Scott and I happened to be off of work. The weather was fantastic so we decided to take the kids on an outing. We started off the morning with Grants Farm. We rode a tram out to the main garden area. During that ride we had an opportunity to see deer, cows, geese, fish, and a few others. Upon arrival to the enterance Owen had an opportunity to touch a snake and feed the goats a bottle. We then viewed the other animals, visited Uncle Joe and had a snack.
Next, we headed to West County Mall. We wanted to get Ave's ears pierced and I wanted to look in their Coach store. First we went to Claires to have Avery's ears done. She did much better than we ever anticipated. She was upset about the gal dotting her lobe. So, the attendant gave her a sucker and we gave her a blanket (which she must have when she is upset). Her ears were then cleansed and the piercing began.
Lastly, we took the kids into Build-A-Bear for some fun. Avery picked out a puppy and a Hello Kitty shirt for him to wear (irony there). Owen picked out a green triceratops with a Batman shirt. We stuffed, sewed and dressed. Both kids carried their "I'm Going Home" box out of the store (yes, both kids even though the box was 3/4 the size of Avery).
We had a great beginning to a long weekend. We hope that everyone else has an enjoyable (and relaxing) weekend!

That's so cute that Avery got her ears pieced. Sarah already had pierced ears when we got her and we've had so much fun accessorizing.
